Preoperative Assessment
The preoperative assessment is carried out once your surgery has been scheduled. Your doctor will guide you on when and where the assessment will take place. On the appointed date and time, you will need to go to the Admissions Office to complete the necessary paperwork.
Instructions for the preoperative assessment:
- Blood tests
- Based on your doctor’s recommendation, arrange an appointment with a cardiologist.
- Chest X-ray.
- On the day of your surgery, please bring:
- Any medications you are currently taking.
- X-rays, test results, ECG, etc.
- If you are taking blood pressure medication, you may take it on the morning of your surgery with a small sip of water, as advised by your doctor.
- If you are taking aspirin or other anticoagulant medications, you must stop them a few days before surgery, according to your doctor’s instructions.
- Please bring personal hygiene items, as you may need to stay overnight at the clinic, depending on the nature of the surgery and your doctor’s recommendation.
- From midnight before the surgery, do not eat or drink anything, and do not take any medications on the morning of the operation, except for blood pressure medication, which you may take with a small sip of water unless otherwise instructed by your doctor.
- The clinic’s administration will inform you the day before about the exact time you should arrive at the clinic.
